Our
firm is organized to encourage the creative process and deliver
quality at all levels. We emphasize process and analysis. We
rely on consensus-building, the input of project stakeholders,
and the exchange of ideas. The Project Team, led by SA+A,
is comprised of consultants best representing the various disciplines
required to successfully execute the client’s program requirements. The
interaction afforded by independent consultants allows for thorough,
unbiased investigation of program and design parameters, leading
to a design solution truly unique to each client. The end
result is the collaboration and cross-disciplinary teamwork based
on knowledge sharing, expertise, and innovation of process, project,
and client.
Where We Began
Steve Auger founded his firm in 1994 to focus his client service
capabilities, design expertise, and business skills. It was during
this year that he was awarded the commission for the renovation
/restoration and addition of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake
Orion, Michigan.
From this first project onward Steve’s practical design experience
has helped maintain the fine balance between aesthetics and project
budget.
SA+A Architects has a reputation for providing strong client services,
realistic budgets, and excellence in design. The focus for SA+A
Architects has been to maintain a small, high caliber staff that
continually seeks to exceed the client’s expectations. A
team of ten employees, three of who are registered architects in
the state of Michigan and NCARB certified for reciprocity in all
fifty states is at the heart of the organization. SA+A is a fully
insured Michigan Corporation with Steve Auger continuing to serve
as its president.
Where We Are Going
SA+A Architects will continue to build on its success by creating,
planning, and designing projects within a relatively small office
studio. Our talented firm provides many benefits to the client,
one of the most valuable being a service with low overhead, which
promotes a high allocation of assets toward the project. This linear
firm structure also allows SA+A Architects to communicate easily
with clients, whether that client is an individual project leader/decision
maker or whether the process requires creating consensus among
a building committee. This adaptability keeps costs down and projects
on schedule and on budget.
